Ardem Patapoutian, Scripps Research Institute, USA
Ardem Patapoutian received his B.Sc. in 1990 from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed his Ph.D. in Biology at the California Institute of Technology in 1996. He was a Damon Runyon postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Louis Reichardt at the University of California, San Francisco till 2000. He is currently a Full Professor of Dorris Neuroscience Center at The Scripps Research Institute, and serves as Director of Discovery Research at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation. He was awarded the Society of Neuroscience's Young Investigator Award (2006), a Damon Runyon Scholar Award (2003–2006) and a Basil O'Connor Scholar Award (2001–2003).
